Well a few weeks have passed, and I see my dwarf plum tree covered with Japanese Beetles. It seems that on the outer leaves, at the topmost of the tree, I can see through some leaves.
I can't tell how much damage there is verses last later this time, since I cannot specially remember the early Japanese Beetle damage. Also I think temperature, water, and wind conditions would have to be factored in, and I didn't keep records of that. What I can do, it remember how bare my tree was two years ago, and less bare last year, and then once the season is over, I can estimate how server this year was. I see other trees, not mine and assuming not treated with Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Insect Control Concentrate, having many beetles and some damage as well. So far treated and untreated plants and trees are about even for Japanese Beetle damage. :\
I will keep my fellow homeowners up to date with information about my Japanese Beetle woes, and once again would like to convey my message of hope. The Beetles will leave, just wait!
