Time to reseed lawn, and to my surprise....!

After getting tips from my local neighbors with nice looking lawns, I picked my seed blend. I followed directions for reseeding, since not all my yard was gone. Just a lot of it had dead patches. I cut the lawn close and began racking. I found whole sections of my lawn peeling back. the grass was dead and looked cut off at the roots. (I still have no clue what is actually doing this). I removed the dead patches, they peeled right off, and reseeded. The good thing the grass seeds grew fast. It was a wet year, and it was perfect for reseeding.
